The Reagan Library

We all (except Jackie who had a date day with Poppy & Nana) had such a fantastic time at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library for Veterans Day! We go almost every year because they have really great demonstrations like cannons and other weaponry firing and exhibits on what it was like for cavalry soldiers, etc. They also have vets in costume of every war era.

The regular exhibits are terrific, too! Going aboard Air Force One is surreal. You can also see Marine One, and cars from Reagan's motorcade. Also displayed are letters, memorabilia and an expansive collection of presidential gifts like paintings, sculpture, and the gazillions of belt buckles he received over the years.

What was also fun is that we heard from Michael's high school girlfriend, Sydney Forest, whom we've stayed in touch with over the years, that her husband Jon and daughters were going to be there at the same time! It was a really wonderful to see them there and catch up on what great things God is doing in their lives and in their ministry. They also happen to be friends with our fabulous friend Julie of Purple House fame, so the world is indeed a small place! I'm volunteering Julie to host a BBQ next time we get together!

So, when you get a chance, you must hit the RRPL . Then afterwards, don't miss the Marmalade Cafe, our personal fave. They make an ambrosial tomato soup with homemade rolls. There, I've planned a fun field trip for you! You're welcome.
