Occasionally Michael writes OpEd letters to the Wall Street Journal and The Orange County Register that get published. Today, you can read his letter in The Orange County Register in the Opinion section.
"State and Fed Government Lack Business Sense"
I run a small business in Orange County, and I am wondering where I go to sign up for the federal aid that General Motors is demanding. If our business goes under, our 30-plus employees will lose their jobs, their families will lose a previously dependable source of income, and our suppliers will lose a stable source of business and revenue; the same holds true if we file for bankruptcy.
Like GM, we serve a niche business with few competitors and are extremely essential (so we think) in the areas we serve. We think that we are important enough that the rest of the country should fund us.
If it would help our case, we can begin to make truly awful product decisions, ignore our customers, and start paying our management million-dollar bonuses for implementing certain-to-fail ideas, like GM does.

A little cynical, but brilliant!
Get's the economic point precisely!
You should write a column!
Did you steal that from me?
That is brilliant. I love it!

Bravo. I'm living in ignorant bliss these days and no longer watch the news....it just makes me depressed :o(
Yes, yes, and more yes! It has been disgusting to watch this all unfold! MP put it plainly and quite frankly a two year old (well, perhaps that's a stretch) could grasp the concept of the REAL problem. Or at least a first year biz. major could! Geez!
Great job MP!
